Paul Drath - Workshop Leader
In-house workshops can be arranged for you at your organisation.

As a guideline, our workshops are best suited to between 12 and 25 participants.  This allows for high levels of interaction and plenty of time for questions.

All in-house workshops are led by Paul Drath, who has extensive experience of EU research programmes gained over the last eighteen years.

The following workshops can be held at your organisation:

  • Winning FP7 Bids: this workshop will explain how to prepare a winning proposal for collaborative research in FP7. It will start with the evaluation process and criteria, the chief financial conditions including viability checks and guarantees, and rules on intellectual property rights. The main part of the day will focus on the proposal itself, showing how a well designed project and consortium will meet the evaluation criteria. Examples from real proposals will illustrate good and bad practise in presenting bids. Ideal for new comers!

  • Finance in FP7: comprehensive guide to the financial rules for EU research.  Covers everything from eligible costs to interest earned on advance payments, from payment terms to penalties, from subcontracting to social costs, from timesheets to audit

  • Coordinating FP7 Research Projects: what the EU grant and consortium agreements say about project management; the kick off meeting; why it is important, what should be on the agenda, how it should be organised; detailing the project plan: why and how; internal reporting, meetings, deliverables and quality; EU reporting and reviews

  • Consortium Agreement Essentials for FP7: a good consortium agreement can support effective project management and minimise risks to intellectual property rights.  This workshop explains the main features and options for consortium agreements for collaborative projects in FP7.  It also covers the major terms of the EC grant agreement, which provides the context for consortium agreements

Alternatively, we can personalise a workshop to your organisation's specific needs.
